Once upon a time there was a girl who loved all things friends, family and food
Homemade fajita salad always puts her in a good mood...
She loved the store and couldn't believe all they had to eat!
But when the girl looked around she couldn't believe her eyes
Half the salad bar was gone and there, trying to fix it was a bunch of guys
So she had to settle for something that wasn't so bad
Sushi for her...
she could have done without it though, all she needed was the little one to make her day..
Family is great and friends are fun
Here she is before the ass whooping that Tennessee got had begun..
Finally lunch with a long lost friend..
She scanned the menu and what did she see
if she didn't order the hummus what kind of blogger would she be??
But her cravings were strong so I will go on with the ballad
The pear and Gorgonzola were on the top of her list
She shouldn't eat dairy but she couldn't resist...
and what did she do? went home and made cupcakes...
Her belly hurt even worse after she ate three!!!
Although she was aching and wanted to hurl
it was softball time for her little girl
So to the park to watch 4 year olds play
Just look at these faces they made her day...
CONFESSION OF THE DAY: I sometimes struggle with the intensity of my workouts. If I am having an off day I struggle in my mind trying to justify it saying "it was better than doing nothing at all" but then sometimes I think "If I am not giving 100% then I am wasting my time".
What are your thoughts on a workout you are just not feeling? Do you think something is better than nothing? Or that if your are not giving it 100% why bother?

Glad to see you back posting more girl! So happy to see that cuz it means you're feeling better 'bout stuff I'd assume! You look freakin' hottie pa-tottie with your blonde friend and of course with Heabs you two both look awesome. Hope lunch was fun..I wanna come with! :)

Something is always better than nothing...even it's just a walk outside. Any sort of movement is good. :)
ReplyDeleteI did not know you were such a poet J! This post was cracking me up. So good to see you yesterday, and I loved that hummus platter. You did not mention that I helped you with that pizza. So, it wasn't you doing all the damage. I was thinking about my salad yesterday. I asked them to leave off the cheese and croutons, but they left off everything. Weren't there supposed to be pine nuts or something? I had no choice but to attach your plate. :)
Love you.
PS - Your MIL is so pretty!
...and by "attach", I mean "attack"
ReplyDeleteJ this post was great! I had no idea you had such a talent.. very cool..
ReplyDeletethe pizza and cupcakes look amazing, can't blame you for pigging out!
and as much as you work out, of course you are going to have off days! although I do think something is better than nothing I also have cut a workout short if I'm not feeling it.. do what feels best for you girl!
Aw, I hope your tummy is feeling better!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely a "something is better than nothing" kind of girl. If I don't feel up to a full blown workout, I go for a walk (on the treadmill if the weather isn't perrmitting), and throw in some sit-ups and push-ups. Just the act of movement always improves how I feel, whether or not I can do an intense session.
Hi Justine!!! It's so good to have you back!! I love the family story you shared (dang your mother in law is so pretty!!)
ReplyDeleteI think for me, I would rather hit up the gym and do SOMETHING rather than nothing. Exercise should be enjoyable, and going all out all the time is NOT fun. Making exercise a chore will only make you burn out faster, so make sure you balance some hard core with some soft core to balance it out! Don’t be so hard on yourself sweetie!
those girls are toooooo cute!
ReplyDeletesomething is better than nothing, although i have say i know the EXACT feeling :)
that fajita salad is looking like it needs to get in my belly...now!
I don't like to workout just to workout anymore (well... I used to workout just because for the sake of a workout). LIfe is too short and too precious to waste an hour doing something that we don't enjoy. :)
ReplyDeletethat lemon cupcake looks so spoogy!!! where can I get the recipe?
AH! I love this post, Justine!! Such cute rhymes. That hummus looks good, and girlfriend, I don't blame Heather. Pear and gorgonzola are awesome together, and in pizza form - even better!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, your mother-in-law is breathtakingly beautiful!
Mmm, fajita salad, whole foods, and pizza??? Drooool! Those are some fabulous eats you've been having :)
ReplyDeleteHonestly, it's more common that I'm tired when I'm working out than not, so I guess for me, even though I'm not giving the workout 100%, I do it anyway. I don't go all out very often for this reason, but when I do, it feels great!
i try to give it my all or at least push it. but i FIRMLY believe something is better than nothing. love the hummus pic!
ReplyDeleteANY form of exercie is better than not doing anything girl!

I say, don't do something you're not into - do what you want to do and just listen to your body :)
ReplyDeleteSaw your comment on my blog - the kabocha squash SHOULD work, but I'm not 100% positive. If you try it, let me know the results, for sure!
Can totally relate to today's confession!
ReplyDeleteBTW, is that seriously your mom?! What a beauty! So that's where you and the Little One get it! ;)
