My Guest Post. I call it Channeling Justine

First off, a big thank you to my sweet friend Justine for allowing me to do a guest post on her blog. So exciting as I love this girl so much. OK, so not only do I love Justine, but I also love all of her recipes. Her Black Bean Turkey Burgers have me drooling every time I see them on her blog, and I decided it was finally time I made some for me and the Man (as in my man, CD). :)

I followed Justine's recipe...well almost. Instead of black beans, I used Trader Joe's salsa flavored refried pinto beans. However, no other substitutions were made since Justine said the recipe was perfect. Here they are cooking using her pan-fried method:

No oil necessary!

I ate mine with steamed broccoli, squash, jicama, and raw grape tomatoes:

My man's plate:

Chris basically piled everything in our fridge onto his plate for a monster salad with 2 turkey burgers.

Thank goodness for leftovers:

Even better the next day!

The next night, we ate our burgers topped with hummus (per Justine's recommendation) along side some roasted Brussels sprouts and sweet potatoes. Delish!

So what did me and my man think of Justine's recipe?

Two thumbs way up!

Please excuse our Little Ones. They were both trying to get in the picture. :)

Seriously, everyone should make these burgers. So easy, and they taste amazing! Thanks again Justine for sharing the recipe.

Confession of the Day:

I am a total pluck-a-holic. I keep tweezers everywhere: the bathroom, my purse, the car. Yeah, I'm that girl you have to honk at when the light turns green, and I fail to go. I was probably too busy plucking my eyebrows. :)

  2. Mmmm... those burgers on going on my recipe plan for sure! I love the idea of mixing meat with a non-animal protein like beans. Everything in moderation right?

This is awkward, but I'm a plucker too. I've gone too far a couple times and learned the hard way.

  4. Awesome post! The little ones are so cute :)

I recently overplucked and now I'm forcing myself NOT to pluck for a little while. It's so tempting :(

  5. That's such a cute photo of the two of you!
I would be a pluck a holic, but when I tweeze my eyebrow area turns seriously red and I look like a clown! Alas I must reserve special time for this when I won't be leaving the house for 12 hours at least :(
