Puddin' In Your Oats???

So Monday after I met Heather (I love her!) I couldn't wait to get home and make something with the agar agar I picked up at Whole Foods! Sadly I didnt even think about having to chill it after cooking to set it and I had already started cooking it at about 9:30. That was ok thought because it gave me all night to dream of ways to eat it in the morning. Upon waking I knew exactly what I was going to do and made a b line for the kitchen. I whipped up this lovely creation and it was heaven in my mouth.
I added whipped cream just because I can and you cant eat dark chocolate pudding without it!
All mixed in and lookin mighty fine!!!So heres how I made it....

Agar Dark Chocolate Protein Puddin' Oats

(dark chocolate puddin)
  • Dark choc. cocoa powder
  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • few drops of vanilla stevia
  • 1 Tbsp. agar agar
Make according to agar package and chill.

Next morning I made blended oat bran with 1/2 cup oat bran, water, small chunk of banana, and stevia. Then I blended the dark choc. puddin with a pack of this chocolate protein powder and added water to get a smooth texture. After your finished blending all the amazingness you just top your blended grains with the puddin' and let your mouth enjoy!

The pp was pretty good and no gas after ward was even more of a plus!!! This breakfast was a change from my usual egg whites but I loved it and I am sad I only have one more packet of this protein powder. The agar puddin was great and its too bad it cost so much for such a little bag. I did read that you may be able to find it in some Asian grocery stores in bulk for like $1.50 a lb. so I maybe searching around for such a place.

Yesterday was such a beautiful day and it was my day off from the gym so I did a lot of wagon pulling outside with the little one. Before we went I made this really yummy bowl of pumpkin goodness.
I also made a really good lunch that consisted of sugar snap peas, sweet potato fries and homemade salmon burgers on top of fresh spinach with sliced tomatoes. In the middle is my fav. unsweetend ketchup.
Today was a gym day and I had pretty good workout. I have been sticking to full body workouts since I came back from my 4 days off. Everything I have been doing though has been sorta random so I think its time to get back on a solid plan and I am thinking about trying this one out. Its called Change It Up to Stay Motivated and its looks right up my ally. Anyway, I was craving another bowl of that pumpkin goodness today so I made some more but changed it up a little and think I found perfection.
In the mix is a little less than a 1/4 cup oat bran, 1/4 cup wheat bran, cinnamon, stevia, and a couple of egg whites and water, nuked. Then on top I drizzled some hazelnut stevia, homemade almond butter, pumpkin butter and fat free whipped cream. Yum!! Such a good snack!

Back to last night, we went to the mans aunts house to visit with his Grandma that is in town and she cooked so much food. I wasn't even hungry when I got there but I ate anyway. She also made a green cake that I wish I had pics of. Lets just say I had one 3 to many helpings. Today they want to go lunch and I am really dreading it(not them, their the greatest! but the restaurant food)! I just ate that bowl of pumpkin goodness so when we get there I think I will just order a side salad w/o dressing and stick to socializing.

CONFESSION OF THE DAY: When I walk I curl my toes up inside my shoes. Even if I am wearing sandals. I never noticed until my mom pointed it out last summer. Its a little strange and I am not sure why I do it????

  1. OK, forget the Middle Eastern. I just want to come eat at your house! :) I love your agar agar creation. Looks divine! I did check out the International Mkt. on Belmont, but no agar agar. There are other options out there. We will find them!

  2. Yay! I love your confession. I do the same thing with my toes. I don't think it's weird... in fact, I would like to think we're the only normal walkers out there :)

    P.S. I love your blog
